BIOS of the Four Founders:
Donald R. McLean
Chief Executive Officer
Don has spent four decades in Colorado ski resort towns and has extensive land and brand development experience with a focus on sales and marketing of planned mountain communities.
Don joined the ski patrol in Vail after graduating from CU’s Leeds School of Business, then went on to play an instrumental role in the development of the Beaver Creek and Telluride ski areas. He now brings his expertise to Stagecoach with a vision to create a new place for generations of families to enjoy.
Don has had the benefit of working with industry leaders such as Harry Frampton and Mark Smith in the early days of Beaver Creek, as well as Ron Allred in Telluride and a host of other ski industry icons.
Don was recruited by Ron Allred to handle developer sales in Telluride Mountain Village “TMV”. Don became an owner of Telluride Real Estate Corp which was the #1 brokerage in the region. In addition, he owned McLean Maddock LLC which developed over 100,000 sq. ft. of log and conventional single family and multi-family ski in, ski out products.
Don served as Chair of the Design Review Board in Mountain Village along with terms on the Metro District and HOA Board. As a result, he understands the need for strong design controls, homeowner’s associations and metro districts. He was President of Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club and raised three wonderful athletic skiers on a trailside home in TMV.
By combining his sales, marketing and development history in major ski resort communities, Don can assure we maximize real estate values, navigate environmental considerations, and maintain a focus on quality of life for new owners and guests. Don has a passion and understanding of mountain lifestyles and looks forward to launching Colorado’s next four-season ski resort at Stagecoach Mountain.
